Heat treatment deformation is generally divided into two types: one is shape distortion, such as bending and warping; the other is dimensional distortion, such as elongation and shortening. Generally speaking, the actual deformation of wheel forgings often has two kinds of deformation at the same time. Of course, depending on the specific circumstances, the effects of the two deformations are also different.

Basic law of heat treatment deformation

      1. The law of deformation caused by thermal stress. Under the action of thermal stress, the core of the forging is under compressive stress at the initial stage of cooling. At this time, the temperature of the forging is relatively high and it is in a better plastic state. When the initial thermal stress exceeds the yield point of the steel, the forging undergoes plastic deformation. The deformation caused by thermal stress has the following rules: 1. Forgings are shortened in the axial direction or the maximum dimension direction, and elongated in the radial direction or the minimum dimension direction.

        2. The plane is convex, the edges and corners become rounded, and tend to be spherical.

        3. The outer diameter of the round (square) hole forgings expands and the inner diameter decreases.

      2. Deformation law caused by phase change stress During heat treatment, the change of phase change stress is exactly the opposite of thermal stress, so the deformation law caused by it is also the opposite. The deformation caused by it has the following laws: 1. Forgings along the axial direction Or stretch in the direction of the largest dimension and shorten in the direction of the radial or smallest dimension.

                        2. The plane is concave and the edges and corners become sharp.

                        3. The outer diameter of round (square) hole forgings is reduced, and the inner diameter is expanded.
