Rail spikes, also known as cutting spikes or crampons, are large spikes used to fasten rail fastening systems to railroads on rails. The main function is to maintain the rail gauge.
Dog spikes, also known as cut rail spikes, are commonly used to attach T-shaped rails to wooden sleepers, and to attach steel rails and tie plates to rail sleepers. It has a pointed penetrating head with a square shank and an underside spike that is angled against the top of the rail base.
We manufacture dog spikes in a variety of sizes to meet custom requests for spike penetration lengths. The most popular rail spikes are 5/8" x 6" and 9/16" x 5-1/2", for smaller rail sections, especially in North America, especially the U.S. market, they are usually sold at 200 pounds, 100-pound packs, or 50-pound kegs.
