Railroad tie plate steel, also called railway baseplates or railway sole plates, is a steel plate used between T-shaped rails and sleepers on railway tracks. The railroad tie plate can increase the load-bearing area and keep the steel rails at the correct track gauge, and fix them on the wooden sleepers by passing railway spikes or rail bolts through the holes in the tie plate.

Types of Railroad Tie Plate Steel
1. Casting railway tie plates
Rail tie plates can be cast iron or cast steel, depending on the load and rail type. According to customer requirements, cast railway tie plates can be of welding or manufacturing type.

2. One-shoulder railway tie plates
For single-shoulder tie plates, the shoulder is designed at the end of the tie plate. One-shoulder rail tie plates are usually used for rail weights ranging from 56 lbs to 100 lbs.
3. Double shoulder railway tie plates
Currently using double-shoulder tie plates. Older one-shoulder tie plates are suitable for various steel rails width, and the one-shoulder is located on the outside of the rails (field side).
4. Hook Twin Tie Plates for Railroad

Function of Railroad Tie Plate Steel
