Features of Dowels for Railway Sleepers:
1. In a rail fastening system, railway dowels can be used as the basis of the system, because it needs to be separately pre-inserted into concrete sleepers before assembling the rail fastening system parts. Railway dowels are used to ensure a good connection between the fastening system and the concrete sleepers through rail screws and bolts.
2. On the other hand, similar to rail rubber pads or rail insulators, another function of the plastic insert is to insulate the fastener from the rail tie plates. Therefore, the quality of this small pre-inserted part in concrete sleepers, especially its strength and fatigue life, is of great significance to the entire railway line. Take the WJ-8 fastening system as an example. The anchor bolts are matched with the plastic sleeve embedded in the track plate, and the rail tie plates are tightly fixed on the rail and sleeper through the rail clips to achieve a sufficient elastic range to avoid the loosening of the rail bolts. Thereby reducing railway maintenance work accordingly.
