Railroad Track Gauge Rods Definition:
Railroad track gauge rods are a type of rail material used to maintain the rail gauge by improving the lateral stability of the rail. It is a very important reinforcement accessory for railroad tracks.
Railroad track gauge rods are most suitable for weak parts such as straight rails, curved rails, turnouts, and broken sleepers. They are placed under parallel rails to clamp the rails to prevent them from opening or tilting.
If railroad track gauge rods are missing in the weak section of the railway track, derailment accidents and even train overturns may occur.

Railroad Track Gauge Rod Components:
The standard gauge rods at both ends include 1 rod, 4 iron clips, 4 flat washers, 4 nuts, 4 spring washers and other components, whether it is non-insulated or insulated.
Railroad Track Gauge Rods Features:
1. High strength
2. High durability
3. Excellent chemical stability
4. Simple operation
Types of Railroad Track Gauge Rods:
The types of rail gauge rods include insulated gauge rods and non-insulated gauge rods.
1. Non-insulated gauge rod
The single-ended gauge rod has a hook on one end and a single claw with a nut and a spring lock washer on the other end.
The double-end gauge rod has two jaws, two nuts and two washers at both ends of the rod.
2. Insulated gauge rod
Insulated gauge rods can be used on railway tracks with signals or wherever electrical insulation is required.
A pair or iron claws at both ends of the double-ended gauge rod clamp the rail base to fix the rail to keep the rail upright to resist wheel pressure. The insulating material is placed in the middle of the rod.
