The base plate railway is a steel base plate, also called rail tie plate or sole plate, used between the rail and the sleeper to expand the load-bearing contact area.
The railway base plate is not only used to support steel rails, but also to fix the entire rail fastening system. It works with rail anchor bolts or railroad spikes to maintain the load of the railroad track and transfer part of the load to the sleepers, ensuring vertical alignment with a stationary smooth surface, and keeping the railroad track on the correct rail gauge.
As the most competitive manufacturer of forged sleepers in China, Kingrail Parts can manufacture various types of rail base plates through casting (welding or assembly), forging or rolling, which are suitable for different rail sections and are used for wood, Steel or concrete sleepers, depending on the load and rail standards, ie UIC 60, UIC 54, RN 45, 90 A, etc. If you choose Kingrail Parts, we can provide dozens of molds for forging and rolling.
Types of Base Plate Railway:
The rail base plate can be classified according to single-shoulder structure or double-shoulder structure to provide various ribbed sleeper plates.
1. One-shoulder railway base plate
For single-shoulder tie plates, the shoulder is designed at the field end of the board. The short end of the board or the rail gauge end is placed inside the rail, which is why customers always need the width of the bottom of the rail. One-shoulder tie plates are usually used for rail weights ranging from 56 lbs to 100 lbs.
2. Double shoulder railway base plate
For the double-shoulder base plate, 2 holes, 4 holes, 5 holes, 6 holes or 8 holes are available according to customer requirements. Double shoulder plates are usually used for rails greater than 100 pounds.
3. Cast rail tie plate
Casting is a common technology for the production of sleeper plates, and it is also a cost-saving method.
Type: Applicable rail UIC54, UIC60, 50kg rail, 60kg rail, S49 and order size
Material: QT500-7 or QT450-10 (forged low-carbon steel or high-carbon steel, rolled low-carbon steel S275JR, Q235, etc.)
Standard reference: UIC864-6
4. KPO fastening system bottom plate
The rail bottom plate is a key component of the KPO fastening system. It is used to support the rail and fix the entire fastening system. It is tied to the railway track with rail bolts and rail spikes.
5.AREMA standard tie plate
For the American market, common sizes are 11-inch, 14-inch and 14-3/4-inch tie plates, which are generally used for 5-1/2-inch and 6-inch wide rail bases.
6.AREMA hook twin tie plate
HTTP, the full name is hook twin tie plate, is widely used in the turnout behind the bottom of the turnout. In order to ensure the tie spacing, HTTP often uses a single tie in pairs.
Different available varieties:
For 3/4" hook twin tie plate: L23, L27, L31, LR23, LR27, LR31, H23, H27, H31.
For 1-inch hook twin tie plate: L29, L33, L37, LR28, LR32, LR36, H29, H33, H37, H41.
In the market, 3/4" and 1" thick tie plates are the most popular in North America.
7. Other types of railway tie plates
We can produce any other type of rail base plate or tie plate, full size and other technical specifications, including processing technology, according to the customer's drawings.
