Railway fish plates, also called rail joints or rail splice bars, provide different functions for other rail components. Rail joints are flat metal plates, usually used to connect two adjacent rails through multiple rail bolts or rail spikes.
Types of Fish Plates:
According to different applications, rail joints can be divided into many types. Typical rail joint types include ordinary rail fishplates, insulated rail fishplates, Joggled rail fishplates and compromised rail fishplates.
1.Common rail fish plate
Common rail fishplates are made of general material Q235 steel, which can be used for various types of rails. The main types of Common railway fishplates include 4-hole and 6-hole fishplates.
2. Insulated rail fish plate
Insulated rail joints have the same size as common rail joints and are generally used in railway sections near power plants. Insulated rail joints can effectively prevent leakage accidents.
3. Joggled rail fish plate
Joggled rail fishplates are generally used for temporary welding of two sections of steel rails. It can help the railway to achieve rapid repair and passage.
4.Compromise rail fish plate
Compromise rail joints are usually used to connect two different cross-sections. Compared with other types of rail joints, compromised rail joints are difficult to machine.
