Railroad spikes, also known as railway spikes. Railroad spikes are designed to maintain distance between running rails, and they are designed to secure rails to railroad sleepers. Railroad spikes come in a variety of shapes for different functions.
Kingrail Parts manufactures railroad spikes in carbon steel or stainless steel. Our railroad spikes are made according to EN, Arema, UIC, BS, JIS and other standards..
Railroad Spike Specifications:
Name: Railway spike or railroad spike
Rating: 4.8
Material: carbon steel
Length: 80mm-165mm or non-standard as required
If you provide drawings or samples, you can provide non-standard OEM.
Types of Railroad Spike:
Two common rail spikes are screw spikes and dog spikes.
1.Dog Spikes
Dog spikes are used to fix T-shaped railway tracks on wooden sleepers. The wooden sleepers have an L-shaped head and a square handle. The underside of the head is inclined to fit the top surface of the rail base.
We provide various sizes of spikes to meet the different requirements of spike piercing length. Common rail spikes are 5/8”*6” and 9/16”*5-1/2”, which are used for smaller rail sections. They are usually fixed in 200-pound kegs or 50-pound kegs.

2.Screw Spikes
Screw spikes are also known as sleeper screws and rail screws. According to specific requirements such as length, diameter, drive head and thread profile, screw spikes can be divided into four types, including Ss series sleeper screw spikes, square head screw spikes, and hexagonal screw spikes. and double-headed screw spikes.

Raw materials: Q235, 35#, 45#
Surface treatment: plain color (oiled), bluish, zinc, hot-dip galvanized, etc.
The manufacturing process of screw spikes:
Raw material → wire drawing → bar cutting → head forming → trimming → thread rolling → heat treatment → surface treatment → final inspection → packaging → shipment
Comparison of dog spikes and screw spikes
1. The clamping force provided by screw spikes is more than twice that of dog spikes.
2. The production cost of screw spikes is higher than that of dog spikes.
3. Screw spikes can also be used with spring washers.
