Railway baseplates, also known as rail baseplates or baseplates, are the main components in railway construction of crane rails or rail support systems. Rail baseplates are used not only to support the rails, but also to hold the entire rail fastening system. It always works with anchor bolts or spikes by taking the load of the rail and transferring part of the load to the sleepers, with a flat smooth support surface to ensure vertical alignment and keep the rail on the correct rail gauge line system.
Kingrail Parts Railway can produce rail baseplates by casting (welding or prefabricated) or forging or rolling, suitable for different rail sections, cast iron can be welded or prefabricated according to customer requirements. Our rail baseplates can be made according to load and rail standards (i.e. UIC 60, UIC 54) to suit various rail sections, i.e. UIC 60, UIC 54, RN 45, 90 A, etc. for wooden, steel or concrete sleepers, RN 45, 90 A, etc. Our baseplates follow AREMA, UIC, BS and other standards.
Types of Rail Baseplates:
1. KPO Fastening System Base Plate
The rail base plate is the key component in the KPO fastening system, supporting the rail and securing the entire fastening system, fixed to the rail with track bolts and railway spikes.
2. Single shoulder Base Plate
For a single shoulder base plate, the shoulder is designed at the field end of the plate. The short end or rail gauge end of the plate is placed inside the rail, which is why customers always ask for the width of the rail base. One-shoulder tie plates are typically used for rail weights from 56 lbs to 100 lbs.
3. Double Shoulder Base Plate
The double shoulder base plate can be provided with 2 holes, 4 holes, 5 holes, 6 holes, 8 holes and other models according to customer requirements. Double shoulder plates are typically used for rails greater than 100 lbs.
4. Cast steel rail Base Plate
Casting is a common process for producing sleeper panels and a cost-saving way.
Name: Cast steel sleeper plates
Type: Applicable rail UIC54, UIC60, 50kg rail, 60kg rail, S49, size to order
Material: QT500-7 or QT450-10 (forged low carbon steel or high carbon steel, rolled low carbon steel S275JR, Q235, etc.)
Standard reference: UIC864-6
5. US Market Base Plate
For the US market, common sizes include 11", 14" and 14-3/4" pads, which are typically used for 5-1/2" and 6" wide rail mounts.
6. AREMA Hook Double Base Plate
HTTP stands for hook twin tie plate and is widely used for turnouts that sit behind the bottom of the switch. To preserve wire spacing, HTTP often uses a single wire in pairs. We are the first 3/4" and 1" thick AREMA hook double tie plate manufacturer in China.
