Standard for Railroad Bolt Application:
According to the relevant railroad track standard, each joint needs to be bolted to approximately 400 foot-pounds of torque on each rail with at least two railroad bolts, which creates 25,000 to 30,000 pounds of tension in the railroad bolts.
1. Railroad bolts in use must be of proper size and firmness.
2. The railroad bolts must be installed with AREMA spring washers and the nuts must be installed against the spring washers.
3. The railroad bolts must be installed, and the nuts must be installed alternately on the inside and outside of the rail.
4. When the railroad bolts and the joint bar are removed, the joint area of the rail and the contact surface of the joint bar must be cleaned, and the joint bar and bolt threads must be lubricated.
5. Safety standards require operation on rails with missing or failed rail bolts
6. The railroad bolt consists of a shaft with wood threads on one side and a shaft with metal threads on the other side, it also has a 7mm hex shape as part of the shaft, which can be easily wound to the end grain or into the shaft using a wrench or ring wrench. new column.
