Railroad track tie plates made of steel between the rails and sleepers, also called bottom plates or sole plates, are used to expand the load-bearing contact area. Tie plates are used not only to support the rails, but also to fasten the entire rail fastening system. It works with anchor bolts or rail nails to take the load of the rail and transfer part of the load to the sleepers, guarantee vertical alignment with the stationary smooth surface, and keep the rail within the correct rail gauge.
Kingrail Parts manufactures all types of tie plates for various rail sections, for wooden, steel or concrete sleepers and ballastless tracks, for elastic fasteners on wooden sleepers and other fastening systems. Our tie plates can be made to fit various rail sections, i.e. UIC 60, UIC 54, RN 45, 90 A, etc. Our tie plates follow AREMA, UIC, BS and other standards.
Types of Railroad Track Tie Plates:
Rail tie plates can be classified according to single-shouldered or double-shouldered configuration to supply a wide range of ribbed tie plates.
1. Single shoulder tie plates
For single-shoulder tie plates, the shoulder is designed at the field end of the plate. The short end or rail gauge end of the plate is placed inside the rail, which is why customers always ask for the width of the rail base. Single shoulder tie plates are typically used for rail weights from 56 lbs to 100 lbs.
2. Double shoulder tie plates
Double shoulder tie plates can provide 2 holes, 4 holes, 5 holes, 6 holes, 8 holes and other models according to customer requirements. Shoulder plates are typically used for rails greater than 100 lbs.
3. Cast steel rail tie plates
Casting is a common process for producing sleeper plates and a cost-saving way.
Name: Cast steel sleeper plates
Type: Applicable rail UIC54, UIC60, 50kg rail, 60kg rail, S49, size to order
Material: QT500-7 or QT450-10 (forged low carbon steel or high carbon steel, rolled low carbon steel S275JR, Q235, etc.)
Standard reference: UIC864-6
4. Tie plates for KPO fastening system
The rail base plate is a key component in the KPO fastening system, supporting the rail and securing the entire fastening system, which is fastened to the rail with rail bolts and railway spikes.
5. AREMA standard tie plates
For the US market, common sizes include 11", 14" and 14-3/4" tie plates, which are typically used for 5-1/2" and 6" wide rail mounts.
6. AREMA hook double tie plates
HTTP stands for hook twin tie plate and is widely used for turnouts that sit behind the bottom of the switch. To preserve wire spacing, HTTP often uses a single wire in pairs. Among the products, China's first 3/4" and 1" thick AREMA hook double pull plate manufacturer.
Different available varieties:
For 3/4'' Hook Double Pull Plate: L23, L27, L31, LR23, LR27, LR31, H23, H27, H31.
